Choosing to start my rotation in the commercial arm of the healthcare journals division of Informa, I worked initially in the marketing department. I used my creativity and entrepreneurialism to create numerous successful marketing campaigns and collateral. A highlight was developing and presenting a social media strategy to the marketing teams of the wider business. Moving into the sales department I enjoyed working at the coalface of the business, liaising closely with clients to supply subscriptions and reprints of medical intelligence. My tenacity and relationship management skills enabled me to exceed all targets. On my first day in sales I used these skills to close £17k of business from a pipeline of quotations deemed dormant. As a result I was soon offered a role within the reprints sales team of Informa Healthcare, thus becoming the first graduate on the scheme to be offered a permanent role. During this graduate scheme I was nominated by the management team as an ‘Informa Star Employee’.
