I manage the production departments for a variety of Springer Nature's Open Access and Hybrid Model print titles, in multiple locations worldwide. These include large-scale interdisciplinary Open Access titles such as Nature Communications and the Communication Series; as well as the Nature Partner Journals, the Academic Research Journals (UK), Scientific Data and Palgrave Communications. Between March 2015 and October 2018, I production managed Scientific Reports through a vendor change and a rapid expansion of content culminating in Scientific Reports becoming the world’s largest STM journal, until the production work was transitioned to another office.For the past 3 years I have also been responsible for Project Managing the Production element of a workflow and technology migration, for all of the above titles, from a legacy XML and CTS to A++ and a new CMS.I have a background in Zoology and Climate Change, and 9 years within scientific publishing, which has given me a wealth of experience in Editorial Production and STM publishing. I have been involved from the outset in the launch and development of several highly successful Open Access titles and I continue to participate in the planning and implementation of integral new workflow technologies and systems company-wide.Key skills: building scalable external XML-first publishing workflows with the latest tools; alongside managing the integration of these technologies into current workflows. Workflow optimisation and outsourcing to external vendors; building and managing large teams and complex projects to meet clear objectives to deadline.
