Lead the engagement activities of the DataLoch team, which aims to enable improvements in health and social care. I developed the first Engagement Strategy, which encompasses responsible communication - to ensure our work is open and transparent - through to proactive involvement exercises to ensure that the objectives of our work align with perspectives from residents in the local region. College Lead for public engagement. Supported colleagues (academics, other public engagement specialists, students) with their public engagement ambitions from idea development and grant proposals through to engagement delivery and evaluation. Chaired the Public Engagement Advisory Group involving colleagues from across the College of Science and Engineering and represented the College at relevant University-level committees.

Led the delivery of the science roadshow, including management of student volunteers and liaison with external partners, such as community event organisers and school teachers. The role involved budget estimations, grant writing and reporting, and evaluation planning and delivery.

Through combining the fields of public engagement with science and childhood studies, I explored the perspectives of young people towards their science experiences through the Young SAGE project (http://ypagdunbar.wordpress.com), an intergenerational collaboration.My thesis focused on three main areas:a) the challenges for the adult researcher in approaching generational power dynamics;b) through a bespoke project, the development of project ownership within the project participants; andc) exploring participants' insights into public engagement with science involving young people.My thesis provides valuable insights into the potential barriers and affective dimensions that should be considered within science engagement projects involving young people, and also reveals how power dynamics within society marginalise the potential for young people's contributions to the practice of science.My thesis can be accessed through the Edinburgh Research Archive: https://era.ed.ac.uk/handle/1842/37278
