Stuart Flack is an award-winning playwright who’s work has been produced at many of the leading theatres in the U.S. including: Southcoast Rep (Costa Mesa, CA), Culture Project (New York), Interact (Philadelphia), Victory Gardens (Chicago) and Contemporary American Theatre Festival (Washington, D.C.) His plays include: "99% Walden", “Bikila”, “Floaters”, “Sidney Bechet Killed a Man”, “Homeland Security”, “Jonathan Wild”, “American Life & Casualty” and “For Eddy”. He is currently a playwright in residence at Chicago Dramatists.In 2015 he was commissioned by Steppenwolf theatre to adapt John Howard Griffin's “Black Like Me”. He has been awarded two residency grants from the MacDowell Colony. He has been collaborating with The Seldoms a Chicago based dance/theatre company since 2012 on work which uses movement, language, archival material, video, and typography to explore political power and social change. "Power Goes"-- the first piece in this collaboration -- premiered at Chicago's Museum of Contemporary Art performance series in March of 2015. "Power Goes went on to a production at Texas Performing Arts at UT Austin and continues to be presented around the U.S. The second collaboration "RockCitizen" is premiering at the Chicago Department of Culture Affairs Storefront Theatre in May of 2016 and will tour nationally.

Stuart Flack is currently a Senior Fellow at the Environmental Law & Policy Center -- one of the leading environmental advocacy organizations in the U.S. – where he is leading The Community-Based Environmental Monitoring and Public Health Advocacy Projects which combines local monitoring by students, residents, and advocates, combined with data analysis and visualization tools to drive public engagement, improve business and institutional practices, and advocate for stronger environmental and health policies.

In addition to developing my own creative work, while in residence at UW Madison, I taught weekly seminar/workshop for Graduate students and Seniors in the Fall Semester, called "Performing Information," which brings together ideas from social science, design, computer science, theatre, dance, circus skills and writing to examine the theoretical background, history and most importantly, the practical issues around making live performance based on data and information.

BestMatch moves beyond the limited approached offered by rankings and lists, instead using cutting-edge information design to creatively combine direct information about the schools with detailed data about course, professors, and the geographic, social, economic and intellectual ecosystem in which schools function. This strategy not only provides unique value to prospective students, but it also complements the current strategy of the big players in this information space and the current trend toward data-based journalism. BestMatch is a 501(c)(3) and has start-up funding of $3 million from a venture philanthropy investor. BestMatch is working out of the 1871 Accelerator as part of the Smart Chicago Collaborative.
