Stuart Forrest has led Triggerfish–Africa’s leading animation studio–for over two decades. Triggerfish has produced three feature films and provided animation services on seven award-winning TV specials. Triggerfish’s work has been nominated for an Oscar, and has won several Baftas and an Emmy Award.Triggerfish is currently in production on three original Africa-set TV series: Mama K’s Team 4 for Netflix; Kiya & The Kimoja Heroes for Hasbro/eOne, Disney Junior and Disney+; and an anthology of short films, Kizazi Moto: Generation Fire, for Disney+. Their first two feature films, Adventures in Zambezia and Khumba, are among Africa's most successful film exports–together selling nine million cinema tickets globally. Their third feature, Seal Team, cracked Netflix's Top 10 global chart in 2022. Triggerfish’s success as a studio has been grounded on recruiting exceptional creatives, producers and technicians. The Triggerfish Foundation and online training platform, the Triggerfish Academy, both seek to actively harness Africa’s extraordinary creative talent. In 2021, Triggerfish was awarded the MIFA Industry Award at the Annecy International Animation Festival for "the pioneering role that the company has played in animation in South Africa and Africa".
