Royal Borough of Kingston January 2014 - presentTenant Finder Officer ➢ I actively promote the Tenant Finder Service and provide a high quality service to private sector landlords, homeless households, social housing tenants and those threatened with homelessness from the private sector.➢ I deal with all aspects of the acquisition & letting of private sector properties through the Tenant Finder Service and the ongoing support and renewal/hand-back of tenancies.➢ I undertake visits to properties to assess suitability for letting through the Tenant Finder Service and compliance with appropriate Safety regulations.➢ I carry out detailed Schedules of Condition & Inventories prior to letting and undertake ‘check-out’ inspection on hand-back.➢ I have my personal caseload and ensure that I adhere to high quality casework standards.➢ I ensure an up to date knowledge of private sector market rents and private sector residential market trends in the local area.➢ I liaise with the Homeless Assessments & Temporary Accommodation Admissions Team with respect to the placement of accepted homeless households in temporary accommodation through the Tenant Finder Service.➢ I liaise with the Housing Advice & Options Service with respect to the placement of priority need households who would otherwise become homeless from the private housing sector into accommodation through the Tenant Finder Service.➢ I refer households to the Housing Advice & Options Service, the Allocations Section, the Homelessness Assessment & Temporary Accommodation Team (Admissions Service) in cases where Tenant Finder tenancies break down or are terminated by the landlord.➢ I provide specialist advice to landlords and tenants regarding Housing Benefit and housing law as it relates to Assured Shorthold tenancies, liaising where necessary with Legal Services.
