Human Factors Analyst
CurrentHuman factors analysis and design for Nuclear and Oil and Gas clients across Canada. This involves leading projects for nuclear and non-nuclear clients across Canada. For one year, I was the Human Factors Integrator on the Bruce Power Restart Project; responsible for oversight and review of all Human Factors aspects of the project and interfacing with the management team to ensure all regulatory and best practice HF practices were met. All design modifications were screened by me for applicability and assurance that the contracting companies could provide the necessary analyses as required by the scope of the design changes. I liaised with the contractors during the analyses to ensure the overall quality of the work was sufficient and reviewed the final packages.Currently, I am a part of the HFE team on the OPG Darlington Refurbishment project, oversighting and reviewing HFE deliverables.Other projects of note include:- Discerned the minimum staff complement required for emergency response at a nuclear plant: analysis of initiating events, required actions and resource capabilities. Developed methods to itemize and prioritize (with justification) events for detailed analysis. Analyzed task and workload requirements to identify staffing requirements and validated the analysis results and conclusions.- Designed safety systems control panels at the main control room panels: assessed system and design requirements, integrated operator and maintainer requirements and limitations into the designs.- Developed training packages for design modifications: learned about the modifications and developed training packages based on the needs of the operators and maintainers.- Qualified to perform Internal Audits, per ISO 9001-2008.- In-house office ergonomic assessment contact
