Five years at the Quarto Group, the world's leading illustrated book publisher and distribution group, working in a demanding, deadline-driven, and fast-changing sector. Worked closely with Hugh Johnson OBE, Andrew Jefford, Gerard Basset MS MW MBA OBE, Michael Schuster, Jasper Morris MW, and other prominent figures in the wine trade. * Coordinated extensive and logistically complex fine wine tastings under virtual exam conditions as per published protocol (single blind, no conferring, no phones)* Managed costing requests to achieve profitability targets* Wrote, commissioned, sub-edited and proofed articles and books * Oversaw the entire editorial process, managing a team of contributors, designers and sub-editors to publish the magazine on time and to the highest standards* Supported the publisher in promoting the magazine to potential advertisers, subscribers and bulk-purchasers to generate revenue; I assisted in growing the subscriber base by 50% * Worked closely with the editor and publisher to develop an award-winning wine book and magazine list for Quarto* Managed and maintained website www.worldoffinewine.com
