Site Electrical Commissioning EngineerNorthumbria Water Ltd (NWL) awarded Aker Solutions a 28 million contract to design, construct, install and commission an Advanced Digestion Facility with power generation to extend the treatment capabilities of the existing regional sludge treatment centre. The services also include supply of specialist advanced digestion thermal hydrolysis equipment to offer an enhanced treated product with operational savings. The plant includes anaerobic digesters, combined heat and power (CHP), with energy recovery systems amounting to 4.7MW of generation.My main responsibilities associated with this large-scale project are onsite commissioning and troubleshooting. This included initial energisation of vendor equipment and setting up variable speed drives to maximize process control. Responsible for carrying out and issuing design modifications to the plant and producing As Built documentation. I am also the site permit acceptance engineer responsibility for accepting and issuing permit to works & isolations.Site Electrical Engineer & Commissioning EngineerAker solutions are the incumbent site design company on Brans Sands STW site carrying out various small-scale EPCm (Engineering, Procurement and Construction Management) contracts. Projects ranging from replacement and upgrading of existing plant to full engineering solutions. My primary involvement has been associate with the designing, implementation, overseeing and commissioning of the new raw sludge trailer loading project, upgrading and refurbishment of an Lime batch mixing plant project and a new air mixing system on the tank farm project. Electrical Engineer / Site Installation Supervisor/ Site Lead Electrical Commissioning EngineerAker Solution where awarded the contract to engineer, procure, construct and commission a copper and poly metallic mine in southern Spain. The main electrical equipment supplied for the plant has an approximate installed load of 20MVA, comprising of main distribution board with vacuum contactors & SF6 circuit breakers rated at 6.6kV. Plant distribution is via ten local 2MVA MCC / Transformers rated at 6.6kV/415V.My responsibilities included production of design and build documentation, specifications, drawings, schedules and calculation in the following area for motor control centres, power factor correction equipment, generators, electrical installation, 6.6kV main distribution board and power system study. Lighting, CCTV and fire detection systems for all plant areas. I was also responsible for overseeing and carrying out factory acceptance testing on electrical equipment on behalf of the client. I provided site supervision and technical support for site operations, including coordinating, supervision of international vendors and installation contractors. I was responsible for overseeing and accepting, on behalf of the client, the handover of all electrical systems, including main distribution board, electrical cable installation, generators and UPS systems. Appointed as the companies Authorized H.V Site Electrical Engineer.I performed initial checks & energisation of the main 6.6 kV distribution board, power factor correction banks, transformers & MCC’s. Commissioning checks were performed on approximately 600 LV motors including 150 VSD, along with vendor package panels and equipment. This required a team of three electrical engineers and ten electricians working directly under my leadership. Total Project Value: €145M Electrical Project value: €10M
