During my employment with the Department of Education in Western Australia, I worked in numerous and varied locations from the remote communities of the Central Desert to the Wheatbelt and the suburbs of Perth. As a teacher, my duties included the planning and preparation of lessons, knowledge of subject matter, assessing and reporting on student outcomes, employment of a variety of approaches and instructional materials, classroom management, conflict resolution, focusing on departmental and school policies.As a Principal, my duties included facilitating the implementation of the School Development Plan in consultation with the community, conducting Performance Management with staff, monitoring school performance and identifying trends and areas requiring attention, and developing policies and procedures in line with departmental objectives.
