I provide electronics design and support services for businesses, whether this is for a complete product or standalone circuits, or to supplement and strengthen existing technical teams.Electronics started as a hobby for me at an early age, when I found I had a particular aptitude and passion for circuit design. Following this up with a degree from the University of Liverpool, I went on to work for a number of different companies over the years. Consequently, I have a wealth of experience designing electronics in a wide range of industries and applications:• Consumer products (high volume, very cost competitive)• Fire safety• Military equipment• Precision instrumentation• Production test equipment• Industrial controlsWhile my core strength is in electronic circuit design (analogue design in particular), I also have a good working understanding of a range of other engineering disciplines including software / firmware, mechanical engineering etc. This ensures an effective integration with existing multidisciplinary teams.I am experienced in working to specific standards, and have contributed to the development of international standards. If required I can provide a complete product design service that covers everything from concept to specifications, design, testing, production setup and support.With component supply issues being a particular problem at the moment, I can also redesign circuits and products based on component availability.I have been a chartered engineer since 1998.I am flexible in how and when I provide support; whether you need some advice or design support over a short period, design of a complete product from concept to production support, or anything in between, there is a good chance that I can provide what you need.
