I pride myself on delivering engaging and dynamic Mathematics lessons. I lead workshops to help students prepare for their A Level examinations and admissions tests such as the MAT and STEP papers. I am also responsible for writing and developing the maths department’s: schemes of work, year plans, course reviews, induction packs and mock exam papers. I orchestrate the college’s participation in the UK Maths Challenge; last year I took a team of four students to compete in the national final of the Senior Team Maths Challenge and tutored a student who achieved a Bronze Medal in the British Mathematical Olympiad. On an extracurricular note, I manage the college’s badminton club and provide technical, tactical and physical coaching to those looking to improve their game.In my role as personal tutor, I meet each of my tutees on a one-to-one basis every week in order to monitor their wellbeing, attendance, behaviour and academic progress. I set my students SMART targets and regularly liaise with their subject tutors and parents/guardians. I also provide bespoke support with their UCAS applications.

Daily intervention work with groups of ten to twelve KS3/4 learners, inspiring them to engage with the subject and subsequently grow in confidence and ability.
