Arts Educator/Administrator/Program ConsultantFreelance Aug 2013 - PresentAn in-demand lecturer and consultant in the field of opera and arts education. Current projects include:Opera Boot Camp at the Cosmopolitan Club of New York City- From 2013-2020 I co-developed and planned a 16-lecture series, divided over a fall and spring semester. These lectures served as a classroom companion for operas presented by the Metropolitan Opera.- In 2020 I became the lead program developer and principal lecturer, successfully navigating a shift to virtual lectures.- Since Fall 2021 we have returned to in-person lectures, serving up to 85 students each semester.Community Voices Choir Administrator/Consultant- In Spring 2021, I developed and founded the Community Voices Choir, a non-audition choir for senior adults 55+, under my Community Engagement Department at the Metropolitan Opera Guild. The choir sings a variety of repertoire from opera to traditional choral music to folk songs. As it moved into its second season the program doubled in size. The program is now housed within Culture Lab, Inc, a non-profit arts organization, following the closure of the Metropolitan Opera Guild in September 2023. In my new role, I continue to handle all administrative and planning logistics of the choir and consult and support the artistic team.Grant Review Panelist- Have served as a regular panelist for the New Jersey State Council on the Arts, Community Foundation of Middle TN, and Florida State UniversityOther Lecture Appearances have included:Metropolitan Opera Guild, Princeton Music Festival, Manhattan School of Music, American Musicological Society, Opera America, Muse Machine – Dayton Ohio, Opera Volunteers International, and as a panelist and master teacher for Brown University, University of Northern Iowa, Temple University, and the New Jersey Foundation for Educational Administration at Princeton University.

Director Of Learning And EngagementMetropolitan Opera Guild Oct 2012 - Dec 2023Greater New York City AreaOversaw all aspects of the Guild’s Education Department, this included all K-12 school programs and Community Engagement and Adult programming. Key Accomplishments• During my tenure, I guided a team who reached over 121,300 students in the Guild’s K-12 school programs. • With support from the US Department of Education and the New York City Department of Education, successfully oversaw the Guild’s arts integration research project COBALT (Comprehensive Opera-Based Arts Learning and Teaching). This project provided concrete data on the connections and outcomes between opera based and arts integrated learning with student achievement.• Oversaw implementation and creation of all community programming and lectures presented by the Guild (typically 50-75 programs a season). I expanded our programming to include the Community Voices Choir, a non-audition choir for seniors 55+ and Opera Explorers, an interactive learning program for Pre-K children and their caregivers.• Served as Executive Producer for Online Learning for Opera Lovers, an online learning platform. Launched in the Spring of 2019, this platform served students in 41 states and 14 countries. • Oversaw the creation and served as the co-host for the Metropolitan Opera Guild Podcast, available on Soundcloud, iTunes and Google Play music. In the first two years we achieved over ½ million individual listens of our first 100 episodes. There are now over 200 episodes and over 2.3 million listens. -
Director Of Education And OutreachNashville Opera Aug 2007 - Oct 2012Greater Nashville Area, TnOversaw all administrative and artistic aspects of the Education department. This also included oversight of all aspects of the Mary Ragland Young Artist Program, Internship Program and Fellowship program with Graduate Students at Belmont University.Served as the creative force behind all of the educational materials for mainstage productions and a comprehensive curriculum-based study guide for the Nashville Opera On Tour production. Parts of these study guides have been reproduced and used by Opera Lyra in Ottawa, Toledo Opera, Amarillo Opera and the Atlanta Opera.Handled all aspects of Nashville Opera On Tour, our seven-week education tour of Middle Tennessee. This included scheduling and booking the tour, all artistic aspects of the productions as well as all the day-to-day operations of rehearsals and performances during the tour.Key Accomplishments• Increased the number of outreach and speaking engagements, setting a new record in 2009 in reaching over 36,000 people with these programs.• Served as Stage Director for Hansel and Gretel, which served as Nashville Opera’s first mainstage production to be presented at the Noah Liff Opera Center and the first mainstage production to regionally tour outside of Nashville and to Kentucky.• Served on the Grant Review panel for the Community Foundation of Middle Tennessee.• Worked with Nashville Public Schools and the Metropolitan Opera’s HD Live in School Program, providing professional development workshops and materials for teachers and pre-performance workshops with participating students.• Increased collaboration with local arts organizations, institutions, schools and communityorganizations.
