I have worked at LBT for 20 years, progressing to company director. Today I am responsible for the overall management of the IT support department and maintain some active involvement in server installations, network and hardware installations, software upgrades and diagnosis of system faults. We have implemented a client-side monitoring app which alerts our IT support team quickly in order to investigate issues arising in the client’s system including errors in custom software. In addition to overseeing IT support, I ensure the smooth running of the company, proactively look for new business and follow up inbound sales leads. This includes meeting with new customers to discuss their requirements and putting together detailed proposals.

At Hardsoft I was required to help customers solve IT problems, perform network installations, diagnose network faults and administer training for new hardware and software installations. The core activity of the business was in the selling and leasing of PCs to SMEs predominantly in London, but also across the UK. Hence, I was able to build relationships and gain experience with many types of business up and down the country.

Whilst working for Rank Hovis McDougall, I was responsible for the day to day running of the laser print and forms handling area. Tasks included job submission, stock checks, despatch, training staff, general print room tasks and customer liaison.

I embarked on my career joining TK Fabrications as an apprentice to pursue my interest in engineering. Within this role I was responsible for running engineering machines to make plastic fabrications and other engineered products.
