Started off trying to become an architect, and completed my degree in Architecture, at Liverpool University in 1992.Whilst there, I was told I was 'too practical' to become an architect - but still tried, although I left my Diploma course at Leeds Metropolitan University after just one year.But was always still interested in design and solving problems, so with the help and support from Anthony Watson architects, where I worked during / between and after my spells at University studying architecture – I was accepted on the Structural Engineering degree course at Newcastle University, which I completed in two years.While at Cundall’s I have worked on a wide range of projects and while moving on from my earlier interest in design as a potential architect, from the aesthetics’ side of industry (although still retaining a strong interest and awareness of what the ‘outcome / solution looks like’) to the more technical / engineering side of construction, one of my main skills, is always looking for a better solution to a problem. Which involves the generation of many sketches and designs, until the right solution is reached. With the ‘3D aspect’ to problem solving, hopefully showing through in the various Lego Models.
