First Star improves the lives of looked after children by partnering with child welfare agencies, universities and councils to make long term investments in looked after children that ensures they have the academic, life skills and adult support needed to successfully transition to higher education and adulthood. Each academy runs a 4-year programme exclusively for Year 9-12 youths. As part of the Event Marketing team at Philip Morris Europe, successfully managed Grand Prix Action throughout Europe. Grand Prix Action provides a free interactive entertainment environment for their Formula 1 and Grand Prix Motorbikes brands, ensuring that their title sponsorship of the manufacturing team is reflected and promoted under one central strategy.Responsibilities and achievements• Within Formula 1 presenting ‘Scuderia Ferrari Marlboro’ as a brand to the public and VIP delegates as specified by the central marketing agency• Event management: each event had a minimum of a £400k budget and was attended by a minimum of 25,000 people over a GP weekend. The maximum achieved was Silverstone where 120,000 were exposed to this initiative.• Qualifying and quantifying all aspects of each event to senior management• Supporting the affiliates in providing promotional solutions that reflect the brand ensuring venue selection, promotional materials, budget management and production requirements of activities.• Ensuring all technical aspects were achievable.• Creating new activities and competitions that excite and enthuse the attendees of Grand Prix Action while reflecting the brand.• Management of Marlboro’s Paddock hospitality units (40ft trailers)In 1998 a mini Grand Prix Experience for the French market was created. Tobacco advertising in France has been banned since 1993 therefore a unique red and white brand was developed to support and endorse their relationship with Ferrari. The events achieved a high level of success with Marlboro’s overall market share increasing in France by 4%.
