Analysing and Writing Documentation for Enterprise Market Risk Software

Leading small teams to deliver complex and challenging milestones for industrial and Defence and Security customersIn 2008 I was promoted to be a work package leader for two large programmes; · Modelling and simulation for the Intel collaboration developing high speed digital logic transistors · Device development and assessment for low bandgap thermo-photovoltaic devicesThe modelling and simulation work package involved developing accurate and sophisticated device models in relatively unknown material systems. To do this I led a small team of theorists developing materials models (Monte-Carlo, k.p, Boltzmann mobility modelling and strain modelling) taking results from each to parametrise the device model (Atlas, Silvaco). Over two years the modelling team met all milestones and deliverables, as well as supporting the activities of the device development team.QinetiQ had a world leading capability to incorporate nitrogen into III-Sb compounds (GaSb and InSb). I was chosen to lead the device fabrication and measurement team to turn this capability into a thermo-photovoltaic device technology. In doing this I led a small interdisciplinary team, where we developed a method of rapid prototyping. As part of this role I have won further funding to investigate the applications of the technology, and developed relationships with potential end users such as; Pilkington Glass (part of NSG) and Cummins Engines.Responsibilities : Laser Safety Officer, Fire Marshall, Supervising PhD Students

Working on the development of world leading semiconductor device technologyIn October 2006, I was recruited by QinetiQ into the Emerging Technologies Group. I continued working on my PhD topic, development of mid-infrared single photon sources, but also began work on a wide range of optoelectronic devices. In particular I developed a fully automated test bench for analysing mid IR LEDs photodiodes and thermo-photovoltiacs. The equipment incorporates circuit modelling of current voltage characteristics using the LambertW function method, and generation of calibrated emission and response spectra of up to 25 devices.
