I started my career as an academic working on my PhD in the field of regenerative medicine. I then soon realised that I wanted to combine academic medicine with clinical practice and went on to pursue a medical degree. I am very proud to work for the NHS in the UK, but I am also keen on experiencing other medical practices in different countries. I have worked in the field of 3D bioprinting for use in reconstructive surgery and regenerative medicine. I have previously worked at Swansea University, working within ReconRegen with Prof Iain Whitaker. I very much enjoy travelling and experiencing new cultures on my travels. I particularly enjoy new challenges both inside and outside of medicine. I am particularly passionate about discussing science in society and want to get more involved in freelance writing of exciting scientific topics in areas that are revolutionising medical practice. These areas include but are not limited to regenerative medicine, tissue engineering, nanotechnology and novel theranostics for diagnosing and treating disease. I changed direction in 2019 and embarked on GP training - a decision I have never regretted. I am now a GP Partner with a special interest in mental health, movement disorders and medical education. I spend half a day a week in a movement disorder clinic in secondary care. I became a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy and a member of the Faculty of Medical Leadership and Management in 2024.
