Accountable for maintaining a watch and working in conjunction with the bridge to ensure smooth running of the vessel.§ Support the Chief and 1st Engineer in the upkeep and maintenance of main propulsion and all associated auxiliary equipment located in the machinery space.§ Assist other engineers during routine checks and maintenance.§ Follow planned maintenance system and ensure all maintenance for assigned machinery is up to date - maintain lifesaving and fire apparatus.§ Document and log a legal record of all engine room operations.§ Report all defects or safety aspects of the job to line management.§ Plan and execute complex critical operations such as vessel bunkering, fuel and ballast transfers and bilge discharges.§ Provide clear leadership, mentorship and training to juniors.

Completed the required sea time and obtained invaluable experience working onboard cruise ships, learning from the engineering teams on board.§ Completed all relevant training courses required to obtain CoC certification.§ Adhered to health and safety practice and procedures at all times and ensured a high standard of cleanliness in machinery spaces.§ Performed periodic inspections of all fire safety equipment aboard each vessel.§ Carried out special assignments from senior engineers as requested.§ Logged important operations such as bilge discharges and fuel and ballast transfers.§ Partook in regular fire, flood and man-overboard safety drills.
