In my role as Estates Manager for the National Australian Group (NAG), I was responsible for the asset management of over 200 Clydesdale Bank and Yorkshire Bank branches. The role involved managing various teams within Cushmans to ensure the bank got the best possible service. I had to be fiscally minded, produce monthly pre-funding budgets, do quarterly projections and manage their sublet estate. I also negotiated lease renewals, acquisitions and lease surrenders.

As Mackays (M & Co) Estates Surveyor, I was responsible for a portfolio of over 150 M&Co. Stores throughout Scotland and North East England. The role was very management intensive dealing with all aspects of asset management; negotiating rent reviews, undertaking new lettings, acquisitions, sales, rating appeals, negotiating heads of terms and day to day reactive management.

While at King Sturge, which was one of the largest European independent commercial property consultants, I had the opportunity to interact with clients from diverse backgrounds and cultures and thrived in the challenging environment. This role allowed me to develop very strong communication skills.As an investment agent I was responsible for the marketing of various office, retail and industrial properties, for either the vendor or purchaser. I established and maintained relationships with various property funds, and advised them on sales and acquisitions. The experience was invaluable.
