Stuart Lyons is experienced in investigations of numerous contemporary and historic structures. Through the investigation, repair design, and peer review of building envelope systems, he has gained experience in the design, installation, and performance characteristics of a variety of building assemblies and materials. Mr. Lyons’ work involves condition assessment and evaluation of assembly or material failures followed by the development of repair/replacement recommendations. His expertise also includes field observation during the construction or repair of materials such as fenestration products, roofing, cladding systems, brick, stone, stucco, concrete, wood and steel framing/reinforcement, waterproofing, sealants, etc.; and a review of both lab and field quality assurance testing.Mr. Lyons acts in both advisory, as well as project management roles for multiple projects at any given time. Duties associated with these roles include the assembly, leadership, coordination, and mentoring of multi-member project teams. Mr. Lyons develops and maintains engineering service fees for his projects, and provides owners with construction estimates, as well as forecasting of capital improvement budgets.Since joining the industry, he has provided building enclosure consulting/commissioning and engineering services for a variety of building types including hospitals, high-rise apartment complexes, universities, pharmaceutical laboratories, and other manufacturing/production facilities.
