About Stuart Lyons

I am a commercial accountant who considers that a finance department is first and foremost a facilitator and servant of the business. I ​am a strong communicator with operational teams and aim to work in a robust collegiate atmosphere.I have experience in rebuilding and rationalizing teams and companies and driving real commercial changes in an organisation. Over the last 18 months I have rebuilt a 15+ finance team from the bottoms up whilst merging two 30mill turnover companies and disposing of a third 10m business. In 21 months, the rebuilt team delivered three Group audits of 100m and the group itself posted its highest EBITDA number's, Tight working capital collection by the team drove cash balances to over 20m in the period 31 Dec 2019 to 22m at 31 Dec 2020 During the last two years my team have opened subsidiaries with general ledgers in Switzerland, USA, Germany and Luxembourg to serve the group’s international growth strategy and only where necessary have we recruited local staff .We have created an FP&A function that has moved the finance department from providing zero deliverable value to a detailed pack allowing the business to drill down in the month into each individual project contract; allowing operations to become a proactive team rather than reactive information taker. The continual improvement we are committed to in our finance functions will be assisted by the delivery of a transformational ERP that will intergrade all global companies onto the same global accounting package - serving the business with real time project data
