As a print assistant, my duties included ensuring that the press was stocked with plenty of paper and ink, as well as the correct paper and ink, seeing that the machine was properly cleaned, the correct print jobs were processing, and ensuring that the proper chemicals were being used to operate the machine. I was then moved to the finishing department, where I worked the laminating machine. I was trained to set up and run the machine, as well as maintain it and troubleshoot any problems with it. I was also responsible for selecting laminate types depending on the job at hand, i.e. silk laminate, gloss or matte, along with selecting the correct sizes for the process. This work was held to a high standard, as these were finished products for such companies as BBC, Games Work Shop, along with other top names in the entertainment industry. I also received training to operate a Bobst Commercial 106. The machine is designed to cut and crease at a fast rate. My job was to ensure that the machine was operating correctly, and to its highest standard of production. If the machine was malfunctioning, or not operating to the specifications, it was my task to report to my superiors and provide them with possible solutions to resolve the issue.

I was responsible for measuring and adding the right combination of chemicals to paints and varnishes in order to create the standard in quality, color and finish that was desired. I was also responsible for testing the product to ensure its safety, and to ensure the proper density and velocity of the material.

Overall, I worked to produce kitchen utensils and clocks. Of the numerous tasks, I was responsible for laminating designs onto cutting boards and dining trays, gluing cushions onto dining trays, wood carving, and trimming cutting boards to the finished product, as well as packaging. I was also responsible for clock making, which involved drilling, wood assembly, laminating the clock face, assembling the frame and packaging.

My initial duties included envelope packing, as well as cleaning, until I worked my way up. I was then trained to work a Maillite machine, which produces packaging envelopes. Along with this training, I was also responsible for overseeing quality assurance of the products. This included measuring and testing envelopes to ensure that they met the company's standard quality, as well as troubleshooting minor malfunctions. In addition, I was also qualified and trained to work using a Co-extruder machine, which produced bubble wrap. It was under this qualification that I worked as a machine operator, and had under my staff an assistant, as well as seven packers. My position required me to measure chemicals, run quality assurance checks, and oversee safety regulations to ensure that my staff was working to meet deadlines while maintaining a safe and effective work environment.Among other duties, I was also trained as a sheeter, a perforator, and I was trained to operate a machine which produced bubble bags.
