As IT Infrastructure Technical designer at Neptune Energy, I reported directly to the Enterprise Architect, and performed the following roles and responsibilities:• Lead the design and documentation of Neptune Energy’s comprehensive IT infrastructure landscape, ensuring secure-by-design solutions that comply with industry standards.• Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams (IT Operations, Digital Security, external partners) to develop scalable, secure technical designs that meet business and regulatory requirements.• Support the entire project lifecycle, from gathering technical requirements to designing cost-effective infrastructure solutions, and guide implementation teams through successful deployment.• Maintain a centralised repository of detailed solution designs that adhere to enterprise architecture standards, focusing on scalability, performance, and security.• Work closely with the Enterprise Architect and Digital Security teams to ensure solutions optimise performance, reliability, and compliance.• Actively support Neptune's transition to Azure cloud infrastructure, contributing to cloud-based digital transformation initiatives.• Design and implement cyber-resilient infrastructures, following secure-by-design principles to safeguard critical systems.• Regularly liaise with Project Managers and Service Partners, ensuring infrastructure implementations align with operational goals, cybersecurity frameworks, and compliance regulations.• Expertise in Windows infrastructure and network security principles, reinforcing system reliability and security.• Proficient in technical diagrams and presentations using Visio and PowerPoint for clear stakeholder communication.
Group It Infrastructure Engineer
Performed remote and on-premise Infrastructure projects and operational activities across UK and our global offices during the Covid pandemic. Projects undertaken• Australia & New Zealand IT Infrastructure redesign – Upgrading legacy out-of-support server hardware to centralised datacentre storage and hosting platform. • Building of new Cisco switch core stack, and migration away from legacy Meraki infrastructure.• Integration of data and assets from externally acquired and legacy domains, into main Stork domain. • Performed ZScaler proxy, client and security platform rollout to all business regions.Operational Activities• Monitoring & actioning Infrastructure team tickets• Assisting with 3rd line escalations from regional service desks across Storks estate. • Raising critical infrastructure changes through internal change request process, and arranging outages.• Performing license, contract & support agreements, procurement management with external vendors. • Utilising dashboards and automated reporting to monitor company infrastructure, issues, capacity, etc..• Making recommendations about inefficiencies or upgrades where appropriate.

Located in central IT team onsite at Total E&P UK (TEPUK) in Aberdeen, providing 3rd line IT Infrastructure project and consultancy services on behalf of Esteem systems ltd (Now Roc Technologies).Projects undertaken• Maersk Oil legacy infrastructure integration & decommissioning project to Total UK infrastructure.• Maersk Applications migration and decommissioning to multiple Total UK hosting platforms.• ~300TB Maersk Legacy Isilon data storage migration to Total NetApp environment. (Mixed Windows/Unix environments).• Legacy HP ESX migration to new multisite Nutanix Hyper-converged platform.• Implementation of new Networker and DataDomain backup infra, including migration from old environments.• MS Server 2008 to Server 2016 upgrade project for 250 servers. • 2 physical datacentre migrations to new office and off-premise colocation Datacentre.Operational Activities• Responsible for entire TEPUK Wintel server infrastructure. (Both Physical and Virtual)• Member of UK IT CAB, for managing and recommending IT change requests through ServiceNow. • Assisting 1st & 2nd line with problem management and investigation as and when required. • Design and management of Microsoft core Infrastructure technologies (Clustering, AD, Group Policy, DFS, DFS-R, DHCP, MS-SQL)• Procurement and installation of new hardware to replace aging equipment• Design and management of bare-metal virtualisation technologies. (Including VMWare, XenServer and Hyper-V)• Management of HP EVA, MSA and NetApp SAN environments. (Fibre iSCSI)• Bluecoat Proxy Administration (Currently decommissioning)• Capacity planning and analysis of storage and backup systems using various reporting tools.• Maintaining onshore, offshore backups, and offsite DR strategy (Mainly EMC Networker and Veeam.)• Management of software deployment & security patching infrastructure using SCCM• Working with HQ to facilitate cost-saving transition of infrastructure support, to remote support model.
