Working as a technical project manager within IT and Change, I manage a group of application developers and systems analysts. My main responsibilities involve the delivery of technical IT solutions (mainly COBOL mainframe). I'm also responsible for managing the delivery of other non mainframe application interfaces (VB, C# and Java). I manage the delivery throughout the whole software development lifecycle - Initiation through to implementation (and support).In this role I have successfully delivered to time and budget 5 key business projects. These projects had complexity and many dependancies and potential points of failure. I have also managed external vendors and sourcing partners both onshore and offshore.The projects I have delivered at Standard Life have been primarily to produce the acturial calculations that provide business quotations to the front end user interfaces. In addition to project planning developer tasks like build and test, this work involves considerable business analysis and acturial input.
