I provided support to the conservation and maintenance of the garden and grounds across all SLM sites and Heritage and Collections Division projects to conserve,develop and present these gardens and landscapes to the highest standards for access, interpretation, enjoyment and education of visitors in accordance with the philosophies and corporate plan of Sydney Living Museums. During my 9 years with the Sydney Living Museums (SLM) Garden Team I was responsible for supervising gardeners and garden labourers, volunteers and other SLM staff and for a period of time I was appointed as the Team Leader, Horticulture. I was responsible for leading the Garden Team in all horticultural maintenance, garden curation and conservation at all the gardens and grounds in the care of SLM.

I led a small specialist team to undertake horticultural maintenance, garden curation and conservation, and project development in the care of Sydney Living Museums’ historic gardens and grounds.I provided technical, administrative, and leadership expertise on horticultural and botanical issues to gardens staff and others, and ensured quality horticultural maintenance and enhancement services were delivered in a safe, efficient and cost effective manner to agreed work programs, and service standard objectives.

Maintenance of the gardens and grounds of Vaucluse house and other HHT properties.

Working across both the garden maintenance and garden construction I was tasked with providing each individual client with a quality service that focused on details and a high standard of presentation.In the construction division I was interpreting designers plans and then constructing unique gardens and features.In the maintenance division I maintained and improved gardens and landscapes to meet and exceed client expectations.

As part of the village maintenance team I was responsible for all regular garden and lawn maintenance in a large historic cool climate landscape.

I was part of a team of cricket coaches who ran week long live in camps designed to give children aged 11 to 17 intense coaching in the fundamentals, ethics, laws and history of the game of cricket.
