EMCFS is a fast growing social enterprise (public company) that operates 3 Community Bank branches at Malvern East, Murrumbeena and Wantirna. All of which deliver a full suite of banking and wealth management services to their respective communities. EMCFS is a for purpose social enterprise distributing sponsorships and donations to local schools, sport clubs, charitable organisations and major disaster victims. The social enterprise is highly profitable generating 50+% ROE before sponsorships and rewards shareholders with substantial fully franked dividends paid quarterly. My role has included commercial negotiations, establishing governance structures, M&A, capital raising and sitting on the Risk & Governance, Remuneration and the Investment committees.

As a founding Director I played an integral role in the IPO and build out of the unlisted public company operating the East Malvern Community Bank. The East Malvern Community Bank operates as a highly successful and mature social enterprise distributing 70% of profits (cumulatively exceeding $4 million) in sponsorships and donations to schools, sport clubs, charitable organisations and major disaster victims. My role included chairing the Investment committee which managed a significant portfolio of ASX listed stocks.

This business is the leading provider of outsource payment services, SaaS and financial software solutions to the finance industry in the Australasian market. As the 2nd employee I helped establish the Australasian operation from scratch heading up the Finance and Administration functions, while in the first 5 years also overseeing HR, legal, business development and commercial negotiations for the business as it grew from zero to $100m annual revenues. The Australasian business now operates over 4 offices and is a global centre of expertise for payment processing, handling over 2 billion transactions pa and one of the most successful businesses within FIS International. FIS is a global leader in financial services technology, NYSE listed US$30b market cap with over 53,000 employees covering retail and institutional banking, payments, asset and wealth management, risk and compliance, consulting and outsourcing solutions.

I established one of the first operational online broking services in the Australian market. The creation of WebStock Securities included satisfying all ASIC compliance/regulatory requirements, web design, management of outsourced service providers and marketing campaigns. Following its launch in March 1999 I then successfully managed the broking service as a JV with Austock Brokers from launch until the business was 100% acquired by Austock in October 2000.

A Director and co-founder of the start-up legal entity that partnered with Austock Brokers Ltd to create the online stockbroking service WebStock Securities.

Following completion of sponsored MBA (AGSM) established the Priortity Banking (top 10% customer base) marketing segment manager role for ANZ's Retail Banking division. Participated in selecting M&C Saatchi as the Bank's new advertising agency and managed their first multi media campaign for the Bank. Launched a Personal Banker programme including recruitment/training and development of promotional material, ran extensive database mining and direct marketing campaigns. Completed strategic planning, marketing strategies and launched ANZ Direct as the ANZ's first direct banking channel which captured 1% of the national mortgage market.

Financial controller for ANZ's Retail Banking and Cards divisions reporting to Steve Jones and subsequently Peter Hawkins. Oversaw GL system integration, created new management reporting systems and jointly led a business re-engineering programme for the Retail Bank's headoffice and state based functions. Completed an ANZ sponsored 4 year Executive MBA at AGSM.
