After changing career from a sport coaching role into the IT industry, my first experience was design work for the companies’ brochures and technical data documents. Following on from this I moved into front line IT support for two years supporting three offices and two factories with the help and guidance of a small IT team. This involved day to to day software issues, hardware issues and IT setup and infrastructure changes. I have since moved over to a software engineer position where we create, test, debug and manage all our in house software, from product selectors to sales management software including quotations, invoicing, deliveries and production information using c# Visual Studio and also using SQL Server Management Studio to manage our database needs. This has very much been a steep learning curve as it was something I started from scratch whilst also learning in a live role. This has given me the fundamental key skills and experiences such as project management and development, problem solving and improved communication skills to be able to understand the existing business needs and act upon them. Alongside my professional life I love being active and regularly take part in a variety of activities from skiing to tennis to exploring the great outdoors. I also enjoy socialising with friends and family and very strongly feel that having the balance between work and social life is key to improving myself and focusing on trying do things to the best of my ability.
