My first career involved serving in the Royal Corps of Engineers for 22 years as a Communication Expert. This naturally led me on to my next chapter, progressing in to the digital age as a certified ICT Professional that incorporated all the elements of Desktop and Field Engineering support, within high-profile Governmental Departments and it’s partner subsidiaries. I manage a team of highly qualified Engineers that support key mission-critical features of UK Policing ICT. This comprises of managing the full lifecycle aspects on all our technical and logistical areas of support; from the initial supplier contact, testing and evaluation, purchasing, through to deployment and subsequent BaU support of all Desktop, Video Conferencing, VoIP and peripheral devices within the ITIL framework. I embarked upon a Master of Arts in Leadership and Management through Coventry University, emerging with a Merit. I am particularly proud of this achievement, considering part of it interlocked with the Covid pandemic, as well as undergoing some personal challenges with my life at the same time. This unquestionably tested my resolve and proved my own resilience and determination to succeed. I have vast and varied experience within the Defence and Policing (ICT Support) industries and thrive in knowing my contribution makes a difference, particularly in the somewhat murky and ever-changing world we now live in today.
