Employed as an Able Seaman with BAE Systems to work on a series of new build Royal Navy patrol vessels going on sea trials. The key areas of the role are taking responsibility to ensure all aspects of the ship is ready to pass MCA inspections and keeping the vessel safe throughout the sea trials period. I have been dealing predominantly with life LSA and FFE organization and security of the vessel. As well as playing a key role in all emergency parties, including being I/C of the fire support party and a member of the rescue boat crew.

I have completed a professional diploma in marine management, qualifying as a fully certified Deck Officer of the Watch with an unlimited Certificate of Competency. As well as achieving ‘A’ grades in all graded unit projects throughout this course. My 12 months sea time was completed with SSTG as my training company and sponsored on Evergreen Marine (container vessels) and North Star Shipping (ERRV and Supply vessels). I have fitted in well with all crews as a good team player and dedicated worker. This gaining me excellent testimonials and references that are available on request. I have taken on key responsibilities on safety duties and watch keeping, while building up a thorough understanding of the marine industry.

I was employed as Ken Malcolm Equipment’s central and east Scotland Sales Engineer.In this role I dealt with a vast number of customers on all aspects of their Constructionequipment requirements. As well as continually sourcing new customers and assisting head office on a range of tasks including customer payments and warranty claims.

I was employed as a Middle East and European Sales Executive. In this role I was part of a sales team selling ‘Rockeater tools’, manufactured by The Caldervale Forge. I dealt with and sourced new and existing customers throughout these regions. Setting up successful distributor bases in Germany and Oman during my time here. I also represented the company at trade shows and on trade missions as well as attending meetings and conferences focused on exporting with The Middle East Association, Glasgow Chamber of Commerce and UKTI. When based in Scotland I was responsible for the company’s website and social media and created a Facebook and Twitter profile which raised the company’s profile online.
