I consider myself to be a multi-skilled and driven construction professional with over thirty years experience for Principal Contractors undertaking new build, refurbishment, maintenance and insurance reinstatement projects. Whilst my core skills are quantity surveying, and I have held senior commercial management positions with Principal Contractors for almost twenty years, this has evolved with construction management which I consider provides for added value for any Employer. I am a key contributor in establishing new business, or new divisions of an existing business, within busy markets. In particular, the interface with Clients and design teams motivates me and I firmly believe in first impressions and collaborative working. Not only does this nurture confidence on a personal and professional level but moreover any expectations of the Company going forward.Most recently, I have played a pivotal role in the Company's secured market position as a UK-leading facade remediation contractor. This sector being of paramount importance subsequent to the Grenfell Tower tragedy in June 2017. This includes, but is not limited to, the forging of close working relationships with all affected stakeholders. Additionally, I have provided consultation, engagement and recommendations to Homes England (and their advisors), the Cladding Remediation Unit for the Scottish Government and Clive Betts MP, the Chair of the MHCLG Committee. Whilst, the remediation work flows from tragic events, I consider the work at hand; effectively turning unsafe buildings into safe buildings to be hugely rewarding and a career highlight.
