Integrity and anti-financial crime compliance professional in green / sustainable investment banking. As a Compliance Officer in Nefco - the Nordic Green Bank, I support the bank's commitment to high ethical standards by advising on integrity matters, anti-money laundering and counter-terrorism financing (AML/CFT), sanctions, the identification and prevention of other financial crimes, business and reputational risks, as well as mitigations in the bank's public and private sector projects around the world (with my work currently focusing on Ukraine). Our team won the "Small Compliance Team of the Year – Financial Services" category at the International Compliance Association's Annual Awards 2024 (Europe). I'm a Board Member of the Nordic Chapter of the Association of Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialists (ACAMS) and a Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialist (CAMS). In 2024, I completed an Advanced Certificate in Managing Sanctions Risk through the International Compliance Association (ICA), of which I'm also a member.My previous experience with anti-financial crime, ethics and integrity and corporate governance includes roles in the Legal Department of the Nordic Investment Bank, as Ethics and Sustainability Officer in a Nordic startup, serving as an Australian diplomat in Nigeria, and working as a Legal Specialist in the Sanctions and Transnational Crime Section at the Australian Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade. My legal education includes a Bachelor of Laws (Honours) from the Australian National University and a Master of International and Comparative Law from the University of Helsinki, during which I was awarded the Seija-Riitta and Jyrki Vihman Fund Scholarship. I started my legal career in private practice and have been admitted as a barrister and solicitor in the Supreme Court of the Northern Territory, Australia. A dual Australian and Finnish citizen, I've lived and worked on five continents.
