Within my role as a PHP developer, we work within a SCRUM framework where we prioritise tasks and ensure we follow the correct procedures for software delivery. I also do code reviews for tasks that have not been developed by myself so that we gain an understanding of the code that's being delivered and to ensure all developers are correctly following best coding practices.Currently, I am responsible for key responsibilities such as priorities in issues and also discussing with other leads, from a technical point, how the priorities should be set. As part of my role, I'm learning the AWS systems and Recently integrated Redis into our current framework to allow for optimised queries ran through MYSQL and allow more complex queries to perform better. Also, as part of the job, I code review for other developers, ensuring we have a higher quality coding going through.

In my spare time, I was a volunteer Lead System Developer for the online gaming outlet Thumb culture. During my time with Thumb Culture I lead the system development side of the project. Looking at everything from Web Development, to digital security and to Custom code ensuring the website and all related techs were up-to-date and implemented in line with the project needs. Within my role, I ensure that all work that is carried out across all projects is at a high standard, with the main aim of it being security focused. On a day-to-day basis, my responsibility is to ensure I am fully immersed in the development across the function. Alongside this, I am the first point of contact for the company’s freelancers. Ensuring all queries and questions are answered to ensure all targets are met.As a hard-working individual with attention to detail, I nominated myself within the company to take responsibility for GDPR. I was responsible in ensuring that UpdraftPlus complied and met the GDPR rulings and currently steward the principles alongside being the GDPR point of contact.I am responsible for Continuous Integration on all projects which use Docker, Gulp, Composer and NPM (NodeJS) that checks all code for in house coding standards. This ensures all projects are correct and in order, ready for release. As well as LAMP stack, coding in PHP and WordPress. I also create Bash scripts that combine the work carried out within Continuous Integration. In turn, reducing our time when releasing updated projects and maximizing our work. This also ensures releases are as lean as possible.

My responsibilities within this role ranged from maintaining existing technical builds, scheduling weekly releases, as well as working on new development requests. Alongside my day-to-day work I was heavily involved in Network Management. This involved creating, maintaining, optimising and securing all the company’s existing servers. During my time here I worked with many large online third parties. My main responsibilities included providing services such as pricing servers, White Label and Aggregator solutions all using SOAP technology with PHP. I also use MySQL and XML. Alongside this I have developed my skills with HTML, CSS and I have also had exposure to jQuery and Ajax. After inheriting various projects, I became more fluent in JAVA programming using Struts2, JSTL and Microsoft SQL along with Tomcat on a Windows Server. Due to my qualifications in Computer Forensics at University, I have gained several skills that have become invaluable to the technical business. In turn, enabling me to carry out reviews on IT security-based projects. The further knowledge gained from my Master’s degree led to a security policy being implemented and enforced to all employees. I was also tasked to introduce further security work across the external servers we use. Allowing me to demonstrate my external as well as internal security skills. Along with securing servers, I was using OWASP ZAP to regularly perform Penetration Tests on all of our servers to ensure they are secure and up to date. Off the back of these tests, I would then provide/present end of test reporting to stakeholder/senior management.
