Before becoming a Patent Attorney, I spent 20 years in industry as a mechanical engineer, where I had the opportunity to apply essentially every aspect of my mechanical engineering training (heat transfer, fluid mechanics, thermodynamics, structural mechanics, materials science). I also became proficient in other engineering disciplines, such as instrumentation and controls, optical systems and computer programming. My industry experience gives me a holistic perspective as to the technical and business aspects of an invention that adds value to my practice as a Patent Attorney.Specialties: As a Patent Attorney, my practice has focused on patent prosecution, opinion formulation (infringement, validity and freedom-to-operate) and IP licensing. My particular IP technology experience includes medical devices, instrumentation, optics, software and business methods.
