In this role, I have used my skills and experience extensively to lead on the technical design and hands-on implementation of large-scale services. I have helped deliver internal services for both forces, services for collaborative working and infrastructure delivering public-facing systems.Examples of work that I have led, including design, documentation and hands-on installation and configuration includes:• Technical lead for migration from CJX/PNN3 to PSN-P• PoC solutions for feasibility of collaboration• Firewalls to provide wifi, Virtual Courts, ANPR, CCTV, IP telephony and remote access for staff based in councils and court buildings• Resilient firewalls allowing Kent and Essex IL-3 WANs to be joined• Resilient datacenter firewalls to allow delivery of shared services• Ruckus WiFi infrastructure• Resilient IPConnect platform, allowing delivery of private ADSL circuits as cost-effective alternative to leased-line circuits at small sites and roadside ANPR cabinets• IL-4 IPSEC-based network infrastructure • Proxy servers, mail gateways and perimeter firewalls including Internet, local authority extranets, Police IL-3 and mobile APNs• Upgrade of Essex Police internet firewall VPN services – successful migration from EoL hardware and software (PIX and VPN 3000), as well as identifying and providing remedial action to configuration/security vulnerabilities that I discovered• Restoration of public services after unplanned cessation of ISP links - I was able to rapidly design and implement solutions to restore same-day access to public services after some of our internet links were disconnected without warning by the ISP• Resilient firewalls with dynamic routing to enable Kent Fire and Rescue Service to co-locate within the Kent Force Control Room building• Resilient mobile data APN with BGP peering and on-site RADIUS

Preservation and recovery of digital evidence within a busy law-enforcement team. All aspects of the investigation process, from attending crime scenes, prisoner interviews, case conferences with CPS and prosecuting counsel and giving evidence (and supporting counsel) at trial.

Support of Novell Netware file and print servers, NDS (eDirectory), first and second line support of IP, IPX and X25 networks, managing contractors during installation of cabling works.

Provided sole first and second line support, and network administration for all IT services in six police stations.
