About Stuart Perry
I have a wide range of experience conducting research into cutting edge image processing techniques with application to both defence and industry. I have a particular interest in image processing techniques motivated by the human visual system or aimed at improvement of the perceptual quality of imagery and have been leading teams conducting research into the psychophysics of perceptual image quality for the last 6 years with a strong emphasis on statistical modelling.I am the author or co-author of approximately 20 journal and conference papers on image processing as well as a number of Australian and US Patents (both granted and applications). I am a co-author of: "Adaptive Image Processing: A Computational Intelligence Perspective" (1st and 2nd editions), CRC Press.I have successfully lead government and industry R&D projects in fields of image processing, document security, print quality assessment and perceptual image quality for over 16 years and am currently conducting perceptual research at the University of Technology Sydney in the areas of cultural heritage scanning and virtual reality systems.Specialties: Image and Signal Processing, Colour Science, Psychophysics
