I lead our team of 20+ Digital Designers within our Human-Centred Design (HCD) Team covering UX Design and Visual Design. We work closely alongside our Content Design and User Research Teams. Our HCD Team cover our entire digital estate including vm.com, apps, Virgin Money Investments (VMI), Virgin Group projects, and future initiatives. We’re also responsible for our Virgin Money Design System and Standards. Our entire team embrace A Life More Virgin and we successfully work remotely across the UK. We meet in person in our collaboration spaces around the country when we choose to work face-to-face.

Lead the multi-discipline design teams across two £45m initiatives both shaped from visions created within the Design team and underpinned with customer insight. The initiatives are:1. Investments & Pensions Joint Venture between Virgin Money and Aberdeen which covers website, application process, online service and app for a new simple investment proposition. The programmes also covers the migration of existing customers to the new system. 2. Project Vanguard which will transform the Mortgage digital services for direct customers and intermediaries into best-in-class website, application process and online service portals. This includes the migration of existing customers onto the new system and the integration between Virgin Money and CYBG policies. Both initiatives will launch in the rebranded identity in 2022.

My role is a mixture of team agile activities, critiquing work, coaching, connecting the dots between people and having one eye on the future by looking after strategic projects. At Virgin Money, the digital estate is huge and covers many 3rd party systems so my team work hard to ensure we’ve got an inclusive and coherent global experience. To ensure the digital experience constantly evolves, each designer has the freedom to be distinctive and answer the diverse needs of the people interacting with each individual service. I am a member of the VM Digital Senior Leadership Team. I worked as an Interaction Designer for consumer electronic products. I was part of the Innovation Design team who created Lifestyle Home, which was showcased at IFA Berlin in 2006. Following the event I joined the User Experience teams in TV and Lighting groups, where I worked on innovation and strategy projects for products such as the Aurea ambilight TV.I was part of the ideation workshops for Next Simplicity 2008, where we investigated concepts around environmentally responsible design.
