I have been a serving officer for over 25 years now and currently within the Dorset Police Command Centre as the Performance and Standards lead. The majority of my career has been spent on front-line duties including Roads Policing, Proactive enforcement teams and uniform patrol. Also had a stint in Custody.I still go to work feeling proud to be part of such a unique family and wearing the uniform supports this. Many wish to knock us and always home in on the mishaps, however we rarely celebrate the lives we save on a daily basis as part of the team.It's a very difficult time at present for many reasons we are all well aware of, however that doesn't mean our standards should slip. Having completed, and thoroughly enjoyed the Senior Leadership Development Programme at the College of Policing I now have the privilege of leading our standards drive within Dorset Contact Management.
