I applied for the position of gun mechanic within PGS to further my experience and knowledge of 3D seismic exploration.2014-2016: As a source gun mechanic working within PGS my day to day role includes:• Deployment and recovery of gun arrays and assisting with recover and deployment of the streamers and associated equipment.• Operation and maintenance of the mechanical equipment on board the seismic vessels., deflector handling, in-sea equipment positioning, towing & handling hardware and other mechanical and seismic equipment• Maintain gun clusters and all handling equipment • Fully familiar with the operation and maintenance of Sercel G guns, mini G guns and Bolt guns. • Maintenance and repair of back deck related hydraulics • fault finding and repair of gun and gun array electrical systems• Maintain all hardware throughout the gun clusters and all lifting equipment to ensure minimal downtime.• Setup routine maintenance schedules on all lifting equipment and winch equipment.• Assist with crane operations when needed.• Assist with loading and unloading of crew supplies when needed.• Assist with other routine work around the vessel when directed by the Party Chief.• Perform general housekeeping duties to maintain a clean environment.• Review and become familiar with all Company Policies pertaining to safety.• Adhere to the Company Policy pertaining to Drugs and Alcohol.
