I did an internship in January 2014 at By Word of Mouth (By Word of Mouth is one of South Africa’s premier catering and event companies recognized locally and abroad). At By Word of Mouth I was involved in the event management side of the business. After By Word of Mouth, in July 2015, I started working for Levergy Sports Marketing (Levergy is the most awarded agency in the South African sports industry) as an Account Manager. I am proud to have contributed to the success of Levergy over this period. We partnered with the M&C Saatchi Sport and Entertainment Group and broke the Discovery Sports Industry Awards in 2017, taking home 9 awards on the night.I left Levergy in June 2018 to work for SPAR Encore (SPAR Encore sources and distributes 75% of the SPAR House Brand for Africa) as a Junior National Account Manager falling under the Frozen Perishables category. In July 2019 I saw an opportunity elsewhere in the business and decided to take the skills that I had learnt from my events and sports marketing background and implement them into the retail space. I started working alongside the SPAR House Brand marketing team as a Sales and Marketing Specialist in making sure that our campaigns, competitions and product launches came to life and that strong brand affinity amongst our consumers was generated. After many great years with SPAR Encore, I joined the Sir Fruit family in July 2022 as a National Trade Marketing Manager. I believe I made a considerable impact in the sales and marketing side of this innovative and agile business and after 1 year and 3 months decided to go back to the SPAR Encore team after a great opportunity arose to become the SPAR Private Label Non-Foods Brand Manager. Sport and exercise is another massive passion of mine as I believe it has the ability to create positive change in the world. In 2017 I set up the ‘Run for Rosa’ charity. To launch the charity I successfully completed 10 marathons in 13 days in memory of my deceased cousin to raise funds to send a child through Kings School Nottingham Road. I am very happy to note that we raised R340 000 and as a result a child called Melusi Mahlaba is being educated at a private school. The charity is still being run today by my family and I. In summary, I am a hard working individual, who is passionate about sport, exercise, retail and marketing and who wants to challenge boundaries and inspire people and teams to defy expectations and see the world differently.

This platform incentivizes buyers, retailers, traders, reps, and merchandisers to meet sales, distribution, and in-store display targets. I brought Meltwater (the most comprehensive media monitoring solution in the industry) and Klear (an influencer marketing platform that helps brands build, scale, and measure influencer campaigns) into Encore. These systems enable the team and I to make informed decisions and create authentic endorsement for the brand and the products seen within it. -
