Role - Category ownership for £195m of spend across a number of complex labour services categories including Cleaning, Security and Stock Counting, with additional responsibility managing a junior buyer overseeing their delivery and development. AchievementsLead the development of facilities categories through strategic category planning and execution to deliver improved service levels at a more efficient cost base. Developed effective relationships with business leaders to land key initiatives and development of the spend categories, delivering multimillion cost savings, whilst improving operational delivery and performance across 2700+ retail stores. Introduced effective SRM strategy within the Cleaning category that delivered improved performance and supported the delivery of collaborative initiatives between preferred suppliers to drive benefits for Tesco.Significantly improved the budgeting process and accuracy for spend across my categories, enhancing the relationship with my key stakeholders and improving the image of Procurement. Supported and consulted on the implementation of global whistle blower service for Tesco Suppliers – This ensured Tesco met one of their key commitments around Responsibility and Sustainability.Collaboratively developed Supplier Performance Management tools and processes within the Security supply base which drove and improvement in performance by 10%.Successfully managed and developed a junior buyer, receiving positive feedback from senior management along with the junior buyer delivering their targets and personal development plan.Supported key projects within Stock Counting to deliver a robust supply chain and commercial model, delivering critical business requirements.

Category ownership for FM, Car and Van Fleet, Telecoms (Fixed and Mobile), IT and Office Printing. Key deliverables are to drive price reduction and total cost, increase service levels, increase contract coverage and reduce transaction costs through strategy development, tactical commodity management, program implementation and change management. In addition drive innovation within the above categories to develop and improve business optimisation to drive value for all aspects of Tarmac’s business.Key responsibilities; £30m sourcable spend across indirect catagories. Commodity owner for Surfacing Services commodities including Drainage and Civils and Street Furniture & Lighting. Worked as an enabler between procurement and operations providing strategic sourcing solutions to deliver financial value back to the business. Key engagement and driver of purchase process change across the whole of the Tarmac National Contracting business, designing new process structures, training programs and resolving issues that arose from change. Achieved becoming the front runner in developing this process across the wider business which has allowed for the further development of other regional areas. Achieved savings figures in excess of target though implementation of key agreements. Supported the setup of maintenance contracts in regard to supply of key goods and services to deliver financial benefit. Effectively managed agreements with Civils suppliers to ensure best value is achieved and drove compliance to agreements above 97% further maximising the saving potential. Completion of reactive sourcing project to effectively support changes in business need and deliver cost savings for technical testing with an annual saving in excess of £100k. Successfully developed good relationships with key individuals within the business including directors to enable me to achieve sourcing targets and operational improvement goals.
