Research assistant in the Microstructure Sensitive Design (MSD) Lab. Focused on using/developing advanced microscopy techniques to characterize materials to predict/design future performance.Implimented use of a tensile stage within the SEM/OIM microscope allowing incremental microstructure evolution to be viewed and recorded.Completed a Master thesis entitled "Defect Detection Microscopy" which developed an advanced SEM/OIM algorithm to search material samples for defects/cracks, focus a scan to characterize the region and then predict the regions where defects/cracks will next initiate.

Based in Leeds, England I was a member of the Special Request Team (SRT) responsible for turning requests from medical professionals into unique instruments and patient specific implants.
