Principal Investigator of $750,000 SBIR Phase II program to develop a high precision rotary table for the machine tool industry. Lead engineer developing new gearbox technology for ARPA alternative vehicle consortium(electric and hybrid). Designed and integrated innovative gearbox technology with state of the art frameless, brushless motor technologies, electronics and control strategies.

Responsible for the design, analysis and construction of two CCD imaging surfaces used in an X-ray camera that flew on the NASA AXAF (Chandra) satellite telescope. Team leader responsible for studying the feasibility of mounting an actively gimbaled antenna in a High Mobility Multipurpose-purpose Wheeled Vehicle (HMMWV). Project leader for the point-ahead mechanism on a laser communication satellite program. Designed and implemented an electro-mechanical two axis optical beam directing mechanism. Worked on the dynamic measurement and analysis of various structures from a small opticaldevice to a 150-ft diameter dish antenna and was a member of several flight crews testingmodified aircraft.
