    My areas of interest focus on the use of image processing, image enhancement and image analysis. Algorithms have been developed for segmentation, classification and defect detection and implemented in both GPU and FPGA/ASIC domains. Both macro and micro classifiers/segmenters have been used to control image filtering parameters (edge enhancement and smoothing) and localized contrast enhancement spatially; additionally, the classifiers have been used to control various halftoning methods (e.g. hybrid screening). Morphological methods have been used for image enhancement in the binary/multi bit halftoning domain. Additional algorithms were designed to perform real time automatic defect detection in printed images(streaks / smudges / deletions, etc), as well as object tracking (cars).Image processing techniques have also been used in conjunction with control algorithms to perform uniformity correction in 2-D printers and height correction in 3-D printers. Additionally, image processing algorithms have been used to simulate localized density and modify toolpaths (via spatially parallel control loops) to result in more uniform parts for drop based printers (especially near borders).I am an inventor on100+ patents, have 6 published papers in referee journals and have 1 book chapter in a CDC reference guide
