Stuart's work lives at the intersection of entertainment, politics and popular culture with a focus on global climate change. In addition to running Balcony, Stuart's work as director, writer and producer has been nominated for two Academy Awards® and a Directors Guild Award. Balcony Films is the producer of HARMONY, a unique collaboration with His Royal Highness, Prince (now King) Charles which Stuart produced and directed. HARMONY, called "breathtaking and beautifully filmed" by the New York Times premiered as a primetime special on NBC and at the first Sundance London Festival, introduced by Robert Redford. Stuart was a producer for the SHOWTIME climate series YEARS OF LIVING DANGEROUSLY- producing segments with Matt Damon. Stuart's work in features includes writing the story for THE VOW starring Channing Tatum & Rachel McAdams for SONY.Stuart's work includes music videos, comedies and web campaigns with actors and entertainers like Fergie, Julia Louis-Dreyfus, Will Farrell, Rosario Dawson, and global figures, including Nelson Mandela, The Dalai Lama & Prince Charles. Stuart's work has engaged hundreds of millions of viewers, helped register millions of new voters, earned hundreds of millions of media impressions and tens of millions of dollars in free and earned media for clients and projects.Stuart produced the first exclusive interview with Nelson Mandela after his release from prison for the newsmagazine SOUTH AFRICA NOW, winner of a Polk Award for Excellence in Journalism and an Emmy. Stuart is often invited to screen his work, teach and speak at conferences, universities and film festivals.Stuart has a BA in Politics from UC Santa Cruz and a Masters in Journalism from Columbia University. He speaks Spanish and is a certified yoga instructor.
