Senior Vice President & Lead Counsel - Global Transactions & Government Affairs
CurrentSince 2001, I have served as an in-house attorney as part of Black & Veatch’s Legal Risk Management & Government Affairs team. For many years, I managed litigation and claims. In 2014, my duties expanded to include responsibility of the Risk Management team, which supports the company’s business insurance needs. In 2015, oversight of the company’s evolving Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) function was also placed under my umbrella. In 2019, I began managing the Government Affairs team. In 2022, my responsibilities shifted, and I am now overseeing our global transactions legal team and Government Affairs team.For over a decade, I have provided support for the Black & Veatch Board of Directors’ Governance & Nomination Committee on a variety of corporate governance issues, including participation in board evaluations, new director recruitment, and orientation of new outside directors. Prior to joining Black & Veatch, I worked for nine years as a trial attorney in Kansas City, where I had a broad civil litigation practice. While in private practice, I participated in a dozen trials and argued and/or briefed ten appeals in state and federal courts.
