• Designing a new seat for the 2015 competition car, focusing on strengthening the seat and integrating it with the frame so that it increases the torsional rigidity of the car
• Derived equations of motion for a brake steer system for the car; exploring laterally biased brake pressures as a way to reduce understeer and improve cornering dynamics by inducing a yaw moment
• Designed the rear wing supports for the 2014 competition car, using FEA to optimize geometry to reduce weight while maintaining stiffness

Kalamazoo, Michigan Area

• Worked with a team on the development of a new hospital bed, leveraging the specialties and diverse backgrounds of my fellow teammates
• Designed a new IV pole capable of use as a push/pull point; developed multiple iterations and prototypes with a focus on improvements in cost, strength, and manufacturability, culminating in testing to quantify.
• Produced an indicator and task lighting design concept, optimizing light location based on voice of customer research; made technical improvements on the current lighting designs to improve the quality of the lights

Freeport, ME

Helped create a program utilizing Maine’s net energy billing law to connect potential investors with farmers interested in siting community scale (up to 660 kW) wind projects on their land. Also worked with the development of wind projects in Maine up to 10 MW; one project was awarded a long term contract from the Maine Public Utilities Commission.
