• Implement vehicle tracking and telematics system into the whole business which has driven several million £ savings on fuel year on year in 7 years• Train and provide support internally to all staff across all sites throughout the UK• Provide our customers with access to software to view real time live tracking configured to their deliveries only• Implement a TMS solution across the whole business to drive efficiencies forward in line with company strategic goals ranging from Van Fleets up to HGV’s• Managed a vehicle and network optimisation project saving £200k through collection and deliveries for the van fleet alone• Integrate all Transport systems together to ensure seamless transition and visibility between departments and divisions working towards best practice applications• Apply Lean Six Sigma to all projects and install the confidence to the staff members to apply the necessary tools to continually improve their own process through regular communication practices• Evaluate progress with each project and facilitate to sponsors and steering committees on monthly intervals• Ensure all projects are within budgeted costs and meet the required specifications.• Maintain the value-added activities within each project by monitoring progress of daily users and making sure the report structures are in place for total visibility.

My current position is about applying the skills I have acquired over the last 16 years within the logistics industry to reduce waste and optimise efficiency within a major and complex nationwide transport network. So far managing to eliminate circa £15m of wasted activity from our transport network in 19 months. Our network consists of a fleet of circa 1000 owned tractor units along with circa 2000 trailers all of differing configurations. During peak periods we can manage up to circa 8000 client collections per day and over circa1000 trunks to our services centres during the night.Our department is integral to the business and is used as a central hub of communication for our traffic offices, sort and service centres, account and commercial teams, clients, and our director and board members.We use sophisticated network optimising, planning and tracking software so we have the best possible chance to achieve our goals and I now have experienced knowledge in using DPS, ESP and Isotrak systems.

I was fortunate enough to have worked on many different projects and tasks whilst at Atchison Topeka from Palletised Planning, in 2005 -2006 then I moved into the Warehouse division and was instrumental in the movement of 10,000 pallets from 3 separate sites in Worcester to the new custom built site in Droitwich all completed in two weeks which was from 2006-2008. I then went into the BRC project and helped Atchison Topeka with its first ever recognised accreditation. After this in 2009 I commuted on a daily basis to Bridgwater to be an on site presence for the company and to assist in developing the contract. In 2010 I was relocated to Droitwich to take on the planning of all the Bridgwater based vehicles to maximise profitability and manage costs. 2011 I implemented two new contracts one being a top ten brand and the other being a major exporter of bulk milk products
