A highly commercial chartered accountant with extensive industry experience, I have recently retired from working as a Principal with the FD Centre, which I joined in 2008. In this varied and interesting role, I was able to share my knowledge and experience with a variety of clients ranging from Hi-Tech manufacturing to Religious Publishing!.Having 'hung up my spurs' I was then tempted back to (part-time) work and have got heavily involved in helping my good friend (and fellow Yachtmaster) Jos Williams, in getting his new business, Ubeequee, fully setup and compliant. The company sells GPS tracking devices with various novel uses such as cat and dog tracking, helping with the care of Dementia patients and in kids' smart watchesPreviously - I was deeply involved with Kiddicare, the leading retailer of nursery goods, over a period of nearly 4 years. I worked closely with the family owners prior to the sale to Morrisons in Feb 2011, and was retained by Morrisons plc as part-time CFO until March 2012 (when the business appointed a full-time FD).Another major client was Stevenage Circuits Ltd, where I was involved since May 2010 until it was recently sold . SCL are a long established hi-tech manufacturer of high end PCBs. Under my chairmanship we undertook a complete overhaul of the business structure including moving to full 24/7 production and a £2m investment programme.In addition to the above I have worked as part-time FD for: a rapidly expanding on-line retailer of sports supplements; a small specialist publishing company; and an acoustic control systems manufacturer.Specialties: After having trained in computer audit whilst working in the profession, I have maintained a keen interest in IT and system based solutions throughout my working life.
