Key Achievements:• Introduced new scoring methodology and modelling to improve portfolio management within airline/travel sector using the application of internal data within SAS-Enterprise Guide.• Application of new models used as part of internal stress testing exercise, simulating deterioration in the economic cycle and increase in impairment across the portfolio.

Senior Credit Risk ManagerBarclays Bank PLC – BarclaycardNorthamptonMarch 2011 – December 2016As Senior Credit Risk Manager, I headed the payment acceptance risk team within the Barclaycard Travel & Airline division, which comprises 2,500 clients and over £1bn total exposure. This required significant controls on the travel portfolio and I provided support to colleagues underwriting commercial card limits within the SME and Corporate sector and led a team of offshore colleagues who provided outsourced support to the SME payment acceptance portfolio. Key Achievements:• Reduced losses within Payment Acceptance Travel & Airlines division by 93% over the course of 5 years. This was achieved through implementing fresh risk triggers and segmentation of the portfolio, creating a deeper understanding of risk.• Personally managed the credit relationship for Barclaycard’s largest client by income and exposure, working with senior stakeholders to enable 100% increase in volume of payments accepted whilst managing increased risk through introduction of new risk framework. • Holder of £2m individual underwriting discretion.• Managed a team of 9 offshore/third party colleagues in India. Reduced losses attributed to this team by 60% over the course of two years. Improved productivity by introducing additional processes and procedures. Improved efficiency whilst reducing headcount by 22%.• Managed third party relationships with trade bodies, accountants and regulators. Worked with insurance brokers and providers to manage internal risks using commercial relationships.• Experience of managing and supporting distressed businesses including engagement with regulators, third party funding providers, external consultants and in-house management team.
